January 3rd, 2009 Getting down to business!
Okay! So it’s about freaking time I came up with something real to blog about!
First order of business, SparkPeople.com. Amazing resource. A group of girls I know online have been raving about this place for months, so I figured I would give it a shot. Until I get my anxiety under control, which hopefully will be sooner rather than later, I don’t imagine I’ll be venturing out to the gym. The extent of my exercise is going to be my fitness DVD’s for the time being. Anyway, what I really love about the website is the food tracking. You can either look up foods other members have posted and enter those into your daily food journals, or you can create items of your own. I spent a good portion of the day yesterday entering every single edible item in my house onto the website. And from now on, whenever I go grocery shopping, I will enter my new items into the site before putting them away. It makes it really easy to quickly enter everything you put in your body. SparkPeople makes it almost impossible to go day to day with an imbalanced diet, unless you just don’t care to fix it. I still haven’t navigated my way around the entire site, but I would recommend it to anyone!
Who else uses it? What are your favorite resources on the site? If you’re looking for buddies, my user name is shaunadanielle.
And now… a little rant about reality TV, cut for those of you who aren’t so interested.
We’ll just go in order of appearance. Bromance. I’ve never particularly been a big fan of Brody Jenner in the first place, but this show is just ridiculous. In a nut shell, the first episode consisted of a bunch of drunken meat-heads who all failed to meet Brody’s expectations for sappy, heartwarming toasts, and a whole bunch of girls in lingerie. Off to a great start, obviously. Clearly the winner of the show is going to be whomever corrals the most female specimens for Brody to bump uglies with. I will admit that I don’t completely hate Gary, but that’s because he reminds me of Dawson Leery. Not sure how well that bodes for him on the show.
Second, The City. To be honest, I’m not even sure how this girl got her own show to begin with. Her involvement with The Hills went about as far as asking Lauren “So what did you do this weekend?” every Monday, and then acting surprised at each new drama Lauren presented. But what gets me even more are the men these girls insist on torturing themselves over. A big part of Whitney’s decision to move to New York, regardless of whether or not she wants to come out and say it, was to be closer to Jay, whom is to be forever more referred to as Justin Bobby 2.0, at least on my blog. I just don’t understand how these guys manage to stick around; either they have way more money than the show leads its viewers to believe, or their magic making abilities, despite not being able to be aired on television, are significantly above par. Regardless, I’m sure I will find some sort of sadistic enjoyment watching Justin Bobby 2.0 drag Whitney through the mud time and time again.
Finally, A Double Shot at Love. I was excited about this show to begin with, but now… not so much. My two favorites, Ben and Nick, have already been eliminated. Granted Nick was really becoming a nuisance, but his sweater vests will be missed. I’m not even sure why it’s necessary, other than for ratings, to trudge through all the nonsense; it’s fairly obvious that it will all come down to Trevor and Rebekah in the end. It’s just a matter of who goes home with who, or maybe they’ll surprise us all and all go home together. I mean, the Ikkis have made it clear that they don’t mind sharing, so would it really be that shocking? It looks like next week’s episode should be interesting, but I have a feeling that Nick and Rosemarie will stay despite finally being thrown under the bus.
For those of you who actually read through all of that, what are your thoughts? Any favorite contestants? Are you going to be watching the new Real World?

Reality shows are always ridiculous. But yeah, that girl can be famous but we can’t? It’s kinda depressing!
I’ve never heard of that site before, but I’ll definitiely check it out.

I missed the premieres of Bromance and The City. I love the relationship between Brody and Lauren on The Hills, but I’m not sure how I feel about him getting his own show. I have a feeling it’s going to remind me of the frat boys that I go to school with, which in turn will make me want to vomit.
As for The City… I’m not exactly a fan of Whitney Port. In all the time that I’ve watched The Hills, I’ve never seen her show more than an ounce of personality. I’m not sure if her moving from LA to NYC is enough to warrant her own reality show. LOL @ Justin Bobby 2.0. This is how I’ll think of Jay when I actually get around to watching
I watched A Shot of Love With Tila Tequila, both seasons, so I was kind of excited for this show… but now, not so much. The twins are annoying and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why MTV chose them to be on this show.
I will probably watch the new Real World, just because I’ve watched every season since I was thirteen or so. However, the past several seasons have disappointed me, so depending upon how this season starts off, I may not make it through to the finale.
Wow… that was a long comment.
